Big Pun, whose real name was Christopher Lee Rios, was born on November 10, 1971 in the Bronx, New York City. He was of Puerto Rican descent and grew up in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. Big Pun started rapping at a young age and gained recognition for his powerful lyrical flow and clever wordplay.
Despite facing various personal challenges and struggles, Big Pun was able to break into the music industry and released his debut album, "Capital Punishment," in 1998. The album was a commercial success and is considered a classic in the hip-hop genre.
Tragically, Big Pun passed away on February 7, 2000 at the age of 28 due to a heart attack caused by obesity. He left behind a legacy as one of the greatest Latino rappers of all time and continues to be remembered for his unique style and contribution to hip-hop music.
